YA Events Committee

The YA Events  Committee will meet on Friday, Nov. 14, at 4:00 p.m. in the Lecture Hall.  We’ll be planning for the Karaoke event.

Library Halloween Photos

Halloween Tie-DyeCarved PumpkinsCheck out the recent Halloween happenings at the library by visiting our Flickr photo page. A Halloween Tie-Dye program brought kids of all ages who created colorful T-shirts for Halloween. The evening of October 30, 2008 brought the 9th Annual Carved Jack-o’-lantern display on the front stairs and plaza of Beebe Library in Wakefield, Massachusetts. The display represents the work of Wakefield High School art students and Art Club members. The event draws bigger crowds each year.


Tony Hillerman

Tony Hillerman died October 26 at the age of 83. Known for his Jim Chee and Joe Leaphorn mystery series, this exceptional author weaved stories steeped in Native American lore with resonating place in every paragraph. The Washington Post obituary.

Crafts fair coming to Americal Center

The Artisan and Crafts Fair will be held on Saturday, Nov. 1, from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at he the Americal Civic Center, 467 Main St., Wakefield.  The fair is sponsored by Hallmark Health Visiting Nurse Association and Hospice and benefits the agency’s Hospice Program.  There is no admission charge.
