Ancestry.com is an online database which provides a wide range of different types of historical records: census and voter lists; birth, marriage, and death records; passenger and immigration lists; military records; probate records; and even a large collection of online genealogy reference books. There are also downloadable forms for family trees, ancestry charts, and keeping track of your research and correspondence.
Ms. Dumont will share tips and tricks for finding the information you want out of Ancestry.com. No registration is required and light refreshments will be served.

Reducing Home Energy Consumption
with Mark Hanson.
Mr. Hanson will describe models for planning and implementing energy conservation with examples from personal experience with his own homes – an 1835 colonial and a 1950′s contemporary cape. This is the third program in the WCAP Green series.
Mr. Hanson is a graduate of MIT with a Bachelors and Masters degrees in Mechanical Engineering.
The program is free, no registration is required and is sponsored by Wakefield Climate Action Project and the Friends of the Library.

Peter Dion, Manager of the Wakefield Municipal Gas & Light Department, will be at Beebe Library on Wednesday, May 13, at 7 p.m. to discuss Wakefield’s sources of power. Mr. Dion’s talk is the second in a series presented by the library in cooperation with the Wakefield Climate Action Project. The program is free and no registration is required.
