Roald Wilson in Recital

Wednesday October 28 at 7 p.m.
MusicalNotes1Preview Music teacher, composer and performer Roald Wilson brings an array of musical instruments to the library, many of them handmade by Mr. Wilson. He will discuss the history of the instruments and play them. Mr. Wilson plays music from all around the world – from Appalachian to Zydeco and Bach to Rock – as well as classical piano favorites. Don’t miss this opportunity to become acquainted with some interesting musical instruments and fill your night with music.

In what has become a much anticipated annual family event each Halloween, students in Joy Schilling’s Wakefield High School art classes will be displaying their carved pumpkins on Beebe Library’s Main St. steps on Thursday, October 29 at 7 p.m. The Friends of the Library plan to serve some seasonal refreshments on the sidewalk, and there is a “Young Adult” Halloween Party for ghouls in grades 5-8 scheduled in the Lecture Hall from 6-8 p.m.

Flower Arranging Demonstration

Cindy Mattson from Given Erwin Florist in Burlington will be creating festive holiday arrangements at the library. Get great ideas and tips from a professional at this program. Flower arrangements will be raffled off at the end of the evening.

MusicalNotes1PreviewMr. John Teschio, president of the New England Opera Club will discuss composers of opera, world conditions that influenced the operas and literary works upon which operas are based. The presentation also includes video clips from some famous operas.
