The Caldecott Medal for Children’s Illustration

The Caldecott Medal is awarded in January of each year by the Association for Library Service to Children, a division of the American Library Association, to the artist of the best American picture book for children of the previous year. It is named after the 19th-century English illustrator Randolph J. Caldecott.
