The Stone Circle by Gary Goshgarian

Goshgarian, Gary. The Stone Circle.
If you like early Stephen King, you will enjoy this local horror story which takes place on an island in the Boston Harbor. Using both Native American and Viking lore, the story follows the problems on an archeological dig on the site of a new casino resort. This book has a little bit of everything…psychological drama, a tragic love story, unethical greedy big businessmen, and a sympathetic main character with an adorable child and a past he needs to deal with. Large standing boulders reminiscent of Stonehenge are found in the dig and bad things begin to happen to those on the island. There are real heart palpitations in the terror that ensues, and Goshgarian does an admirable job roping the reader in and inflicting the reader with exquisite nuances of terror along the way.

The author also publishes mysteries under the name of Gary Braver.
