The May meeting of the Anime Club will be on Saturday, May 19 from 2-4pm. This month we are continuing Comic Party: Revolution (TV-14).

This program is for kids in grades 5 and up.

YA Comics Workshop

Wednesday April 25, 1:30-2:45. Grades 5 and up, registration required.

Interested in drawing comics? Wondering how to take your graphic novels to the next level? Join us on an early release day for a workshop with Andy and Veronica Fish! Don’t worry if you’re a beginner, this will be great for all levels of talent and experience. Workshop will include creating characters from basic shapes, choosing an art style, and techniques and tips on storytelling, lettering, and inking.

Vacation Week Video Games

Wednesday, April 18 and Thursday, April 19, 1-4pm. Kids in grades 5 and up are invited to play video games on the library’s systems in the Youth Room. Playstation2, Wii, and XBOX360 provided, play the library’s games or bring your own (no M-rated games please).

This is a program for grades 5 and up.

YA Karaoke Party

Another public schools early release day, and we decided to change it up a little! Join us in the Lecture Hall for a karaoke party with a professional DJ. Enjoy snacks, soda, and singing with your friends. No actual talent required!

March YA Craft Day

Wednesday, March 14 starting at 11:30, for kids in grades 5 and up.

Another early release day for the public schools means another day of fun crafts for you! This month we’re celebrating St. Patrick’s Day. Use heart shapes to make shamrock hats in the YA Area, and at 1:00 join the librarian in the Program Room to make rainbow streamers worthy of any St. Patrick’s Day parade. See you then!

Hunger Games Movie Release Party

Are you ready for The Hunger Games? The movie comes out soon, so we’re going to have a party to celebrate!

Thursday, March 22 from 3:00-4:30pm in the Lecture Hall! Movie tickets will be raffled off during the party!

Note: No teens will be starved or forced to fight to the death during this party.

We’ll have snacks, play Hunger Games trivia games, and watch the trailer on the big screen. Test your arena skills in a Cornucopia Dash game. We’ll even make miniature bows and arrows and practice target shooting with them.

YA Video Game Day

Join us in the Gaming Lounge! On Thursday, March 15 kids in grades 5 and up can come play video games from 3:00-4:30pm. Bring your own games (E- and T-rated only please) or play the library’s games. We provide XBox 360, Playstation2, Playstation3, and Wii. We’ll also have snacks and soda, so come on in and challenge your friends!
