Museum Passes

The Friends of Beebe Library generously provides funding for the museum pass program. These passes allow free or reduced admission to some of the Boston area’s most popular institutions.

The library and community cooperate to make the museum pass program work. Very occasionally, a problem arises in the administration of the program. Beebe Library is unable to compensate patrons for any inconvenience or expense resulting from problems such as scheduling conflicts, the late return of passes, or changes in museum hours and information. The library advises patrons to verify museum hours before making plans, and asks patrons to notify the library of any changes.

In order to fairly allocate the passes, the following rules apply.

Reservations
The library accepts reservations for museum passes from registered Wakefield residents and institutions. To ensure equitable allocation of this resource, certain restrictions apply. Registered non-residents may borrow museum passes on a same-day walk-in basis.

Wakefield patrons can reserve museum passes in person, by phone (781-246-6334), or, with a library card and a PIN, on the library website (see below). Patrons can make reservations up to sixty days in advance. Please note: museum passes must be picked up at the library. Your printed reservation confirmation is not valid for museum admission.

To reserve online:
Search for availability by museum (includes links to museum web sites)
Search for availability by date

A reservation may be denied if a patron fails to abide by the reservation and circulation procedures. A reservation will be denied if a patron failed to pick up a reserved pass three times in the previous sixty days. Patrons are advised to cancel unwanted reservations.

A patron may make only one reservation per calendar week during school vacations.

A patron may reserve a pass for only one museum per day.

Circulation
A patron may borrow a pass for only one museum per day.

Pass Pick Up - Reserved passes are available for pick up at the library the day before the reservation. Weekend passes are available the preceding Friday. Passes for Monday holidays are available the preceding Saturday.

Pass Return - Because passes may have been reserved for several days in succession, it is important that they be returned promptly. Unless a pass is a coupon (disposable), it is due back by 9:15 a.m. the day following the visit. Weekend passes are due back by 9:15 a.m. Monday. Patrons are encouraged to use the book drops when the library is closed.

There is a $5.00 late fee for passes returned after 9:15 a.m., and a $5 per day overdue fine thereafter.
