Human & Animal Teams

Almost all of the Human and Animal teams highlighted are from the cozy category. Several authors write about human sleuths or animal sleuths working together with the other species. The most famous team is probably that of Qwilleran and his cats KoKo and YumYum in the series written by Lilian Jackson Braun. Braun pretty much invented this specific kind of mystery in 1966. Along with our feline friends, dogs have a wide following with some readers, the most notable author probably is Susan Conant. Other animals that are on our list include a macaw (Patricia Guiver) and horses (Jody Jaffe), as well as a motley assortment found in a pet store (Barbara Block) and on safari (Karin McQuillan) just for variety.
