The most famous team is probably that of Qwilleran and his cats KoKo and YumYum in the series written by Lilian Jackson Braun. Braun pretty much invented this specific kind of mystery in 1966. Along with our feline friends, dogs have a wide following with some readers, the most notable author probably is Susan Conant.
