“Supper Sleuths” Meets November 9

Book Discussion Groups to Meet

Supper Sleuths, a discussion group for mystery readers, will meet on Tuesday, October 14, at 6 p.m. to discuss Louis Bayard’s The Pale Blue Eye.

Books by the Lake will meet on Wednesday, October 15 to discuss Roland Merullo’s Revere Beach Elegy: a Memoir of Home and Beyond.

Supper Sleuths are back!

Supper Sleuths, a mystery book discussion group, meets every second Tuesday evening at 6 p.m. to discuss mysteries of every genre and type. Mystery DisplayFeel free to bring your own snack or brown bag lunch with you to the meetings. The next Supper Sleuths Discussion takes place on September 9, 2008 at 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Lecture Hall. The discussion will be on 20th Century Private Eyes – Ross Macdonald & Robert B. Parker: Archer & Spenser. Please read Macdonald’s “The Galton Case,” and either Parker’s “Early Autumn” or “Looking for Rachel Wallace” – plus any other titles from the authors on the list. There are many copies of both authors on the display in the library, near the Main Street lobby.

If you are like most people, you probably had a spending spree during the holiday season. Even people who started out with a budget seem to have wavered and become carried away buying food and gifts.

Soon enough, January comes and reality sets in. Credit card bills arrive and the hard truth must be faced. In some cases, panic results because the amounts that are now owed are way beyond the resources available to pay them.
