Card Making or Scrapbooking

This program is design for a beginner or expert stamper or scrapbooker. Pat Weisenbach owner of “Close to the Heart” will be at the library with a choice of projects. Elect to design 5 holiday cards or create a holiday photo album. Selection of craft is required at registration. Registration is required.
Ducky Day – Thursday, August 6

Kids will get to design their own vinyl ducks (materials will be provided) on Thursday, August 6. Two sessions: ages 3-5 at 10:30 a.m.; kids in grades 1-8 at 2 p.m.
Job Seeking and Attitude
On Thursday, July 2 at 7 p.m., Beebe Library will offer a program focused on solving the problem of unemployment by a using different mindset. This presentation is centered on the idea that how you think about a problem is more important than the problem itself. Learn how using the conscious and subconscious parts of the mind in everyday actions can help solve problems and discover why volunteerism can be an effective method of tapping both parts of our minds while increasing the ability to network. There will be networking opportunities during/after the session.
Author Hallie Ephron Speaks Feb. 11
Author, book reviewer and writing teacher Hallie Ephron will speak at Beebe Library, 345 Main St., Wakefield on Wednesday, February 11, at 7 p.m.
Ephron’s newest book is a gripping psychological novel, “Never Tell a Lie.” Publishers Weekly called it “stunning” and “a deliciously creepy tale of obsession.”
She is also the co-author of a series of mystery novels written with Donald Davidoff, a neuropsychologist at Harvard’s McLean Hospital. Under the shared pseudonym G.H. Ephron, they penned a series of five mysteries featuring fictional forensic neuropsychologist Peter Zak and investigator Annie Squires.

Author Jennifer Haigh to Speak at Beebe Library

Novelist and short story writer Jennifer Haigh will speak at Beebe Library on Thursday, December 4, at 7 p.m. Her first book, Mrs. Kimble, won the 2004 PEN/Hemingway Award for debut fiction. Her second, Baker Towers, was a New York Times bestseller and won the PEN/L.L. Winship Award for outstanding book by a New England author. Her latest novel is The Condition.
