A summer full of fun activities for kids of all ages

This year’s summer reading program theme is “What’s Cooking?” at Beebe Library. Registration continues through Friday, August 13. Children as young as two through high school will find activities and incentive-based reading clubs to keep them busy while they maintain their both their reading skills and their interest in books.

Early Literacy & Preschool Services
New brochure for parents now available
A baby’s brain is wired to establish language in the first two years of life. Early literacy skills are the foundation for comprehension, speech, reading and later learning. Beebe Library provides programs, materials and services that promote early literacy.
Now, thanks to federal funding provided by the Institute for Museum and Library Services and administered by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners, Beebe Library has produced a colorful brochure for parents outlining the library’s services for preschoolers.

Lots for Kids to Do at the Library This Summer
Reading fuels the imagination and makes children eager and ready to learn. Research shows that children who read throughout the summer retain their reading skills and start the next school year as stronger readers and students. Beebe Library offers reading programs designed for pre-school kids, kids entering grades 1-4 and kids entering grades 5 and up. Each program is different, but each rewards kids who read.
