Do you wonder what it will feel like as you age? Or have you tried to explain it to a younger family member? Here’s a program that gives you the chance to step into an older person’s shoes – almost literally! Arlene Stoller, a Geriatric Clinical Nurse Specialist will be leading us through an Age Sensory Simulation. Great for increasing awareness in young people, so sign up here bring the family, ages 10 and up!
After receiving her BSN almost 30 years ago, and working in a multitude of settings, Arlene has been at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center (LHMC) for 21 years, with the last eighteen of those in the Nursing Education Department. Her passion to improve care for the older adult led her to obtain a MS from Boston College and become a Geriatric Clinical Nurse Specialist. She has served as the Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystem Elders (NICHE) Program Leader and Geriatric Clinical Nurse Specialist at LHMC since 2010 and is a 2013 recipient of the NGNA Excellence in Gerontological Nursing APRN award, among many other achievements.
