Cemeteries

Wakefield has three currently operating cemeteries. Forest Glade Cemetery is on Lowell Street (telephone 781-246-6303). Lakeside Cemetery is on North Avenue (telephone 781-246-2256). Adjacent to Lakeside Cemetery are the Wakefield Jewish Cemeteries, actually four cemeteries on one site: Temple Israel Cemetery, Temple Emmanuel of Wakefield, Amos Lodge Bnai Brith, and Lynn Hebrew Benevolent. There is also a historic cemetery on Church Street at the foot of the lake next to the Congregational Church. Known as the "Old Burial Ground", the most recent graves in this cemetery are from the 1890s. The library does have records of the burials in this cemetery, but not for Forest Glade or Lakeside.
