Little World
From WakWiki
Little World is the historic name for a neighborhood in the southeast part of town around the area of Water and Farm Streets. The name is rarely used today, and indeed is probably unknown to most current residents. The area was also known as Woodville, and is still referred to by that name today.
It was so-called because in the 19th century the neighborhood was a cleared area enclosed by several small hills and forested area, and was at the time relatively remote from the rest of town.
Little World originally boasted a schoolhouse, built in 1844, the town's almshouse (also known as the Town Farm, and several shoemakers' shops.
