Miller Piano Company
From WakWiki
The Henry F. Miller Piano Company moved in 1884 from Boston to Wakefield, where it manufactured pianos in a 5-story brick building on the corner of Water and Smith Streets, behind Cyrus Wakefield's Town Hall. The building, which had elaborate dormer and round windows, was built in the 1870s, along with the Town Hall and nearby Taylor Building. The company ceased production of pianos in 1929, but continued making high quality furniture.
The building was purchased by William T. Curley, Sr. in 1930 and the Miller company left it to return to Boston in 1932. It was later occupied by a number of smaller businesses. In June 1960 it was demolished and replaced by a contemporary building housing the Surety Bank and Trust Company. The site is now occupied by BankAmerica.
