The Blake Gallery was donated in 2013 by Gwenn Therrien in memory of her husband, Michael Blake. Mike was an enthusiastic reader and dedicated Friend of Beebe Library.

Are you a local artist who would like to display your art in the Blake Gallery?

Please read the guidelines below and complete our Exhibit form. Forms can be emailed to email@wakefieldlibrary.org along with sample photos of your work.

The Blake Gallery is on the main floor in the Reference Area and consists of two panels 9 feet wide by 6 feet tall. Because the area is used for seating, studying, and meetings or programs, artwork must be displayed only on the panels provided, and not on standing or tabletop easels or on the windowsill. Works also cannot hang lower than the level of the furniture to prevent it from being bumped by chairs or people.

Please arrange to visit the space before committing to a display so you can see the size and configuration and determine whether it will work for your pieces. Note that we have an art hanging system (shown below) that works well for most types of artwork. We will be happy to talk with you about the best way to display your work.

Library policy does not allow artwork to be labeled with prices for sale. You may provide other labels, as well as an author statement, or business cards with your contact information, although these are not required.
