Avon Street Pickup by Appointment

On this page you can browse our virtual bookshelves and find out more about how Side Door Service works. If you need help with your book choices, contact a librarian by calling 781-619-1100, emailing or filling out the form at the bottom of the page. For booklists for kids and teens, visit our Summer Reading page

You can return materials at any time. When staff are in the building there is a return bin in the Avon Street entryway. After hours you can use the regular book drops just outside that same entrance. Note that because we have to quarantine materials upon return, it may take a few days for them to come off your account. Beebe Library does not charge late fees for any Wakefield materials, but late interlibrary loans may incur a fee.

Printing Pickup

Use this form to request a document to be printed for you, which can then be picked up via our Side Door Service.

Notary Service

We are available to notarize documents for you between 11am and noon on Tuesdays. You must schedule with us in advance by calling 781-916-1100. Please read our Notary Policy for more information about our notary services.

How Side Door Service Works:

  1. Place holds on books, audiobooks, magazines, DVDS, and CDs from the catalog
  2. Wait for notification that your holds are available. *Do not schedule pick-up until you are notified your items are ready.
  3. Schedule a pickup time on the online calendarYou will receive an email confirming your time slot. Please note that we cannot accommodate same-day appointments.
  4. Come to the Avon Street entrance at your scheduled time; items will be in bags alphabetically by last name.
  5. If you miss your pickup you will have 24 hours to reschedule, after that we will check the items back in and you must start the process over.

NOTE: You may receive multiple emails letting you know you have items ready for pickup – please note that you only need to make ONE appointment. Any items that are ready will be bundled together.
