There are many ways to support Beebe Library in its mission of serving the community, and gifts to the library enjoy the same favorable tax treatment as donations to charitable organizations. If you are considering mentioning Beebe Library in your will, we suggest the following language:

I hereby give and bequeath to the Trustees of the Lucius Beebe Memorial Library, Wakefield, Mass., the sum of ………… Dollars to have and to hold, to be used for the unrestricted purposes of the said library (alternatively, the income only of which shall be used for …………….. of the said library).

The library’s annual gala fundraiser, Blossoms at the Beebe, is hosted in partnership with the Wakefield Chamber of Commerce.

The library is grateful to the many individuals, organizations, and businesses who help make Blossoms a success.

Please do not leave book donations in the library’s book drops. Any book donations left in the building or in the book drops will be discarded.

To honor friends and family, Beebe Library is pleased to accept donations for the purchase of books, subject to our collection development policy, and to add bookplates bearing the name of the honoree.

Friends of Beebe Library is an active nonprofit group dedicated to supporting the library building, collections, and programs through membership, fundraising, and events.

Since their formation in 1972, the Friends have contributed furnishing and equipment and funded museum passes, the summer reading program, and rental collections of popular materials. Their major fundraiser is the annual book sale.  The 2024 book sale will be held on May 15 - 18.

Beebe library is greatly enhanced by memorial gifts and cash donations.

The library relies on volunteers for book mending, homebound delivery, and shelf cleaning and organizing, among other occasional tasks.
