Take up Crafting in the New Year

Take up Crafting in the New Year

As the temperature gets colder, and darkness arrives so early in the day, one may feel a call to pick up some knitting needles, take out the craft supplies, and create. We encourage you to follow that feeling and take advantage of the library’s resources to enhance your winter crafting experience.

If you love knitting, embroidery, crocheting, and more, join our Crafty Crochet and Knitting Group!  This program is being held bi-weekly in the Lecture Hall. We provide a small array of materials, and the group members provide expertise and advice.

Craft programs are no longer just for kids! We have had Bad Art Nights, How to Hobbit Wreaths, and more. (If you missed the Hobbit Wreaths you can find the instructions here.) Some of our upcoming crafting programs include vision boards, 90s nostalgia crafts, and a paint night

On cold winter nights, leaving your house sounds like an impossible activity. If you want to do some crafting from the comfort of your home try our online resource, Creative Bug. You can make some fabric ornaments, sustainable winter crafts, or even a crocheted abominable snowman!

If books are your thing, head upstairs to our nonfiction section. You’ll find a wide variety of crafting books in the 700s. Go forth and create! If you have any additional ideas for crafting programs please feel free to let us know at at wak@noblenet.org
