Beebe Library is hiring! Paging is an essential part of library operations. In order to ensure quality library service, staff and patrons must be able to easily locate materials on the shelves.
The library has a limited number of Page positions, each requiring a commitment to a specific schedule. Positions are available for a one-year term (September through August), though existing Pages are welcome to reapply at the end of the year.
Essential functions of the page position
- Shelve books, magazines, and non-print materials
- Pull books from shelves as directed
- Keep shelves neat and in good order (may include dusting)
- Perform other tasks requiring similar levels of skill and responsibility, as assigned
Qualifications
- Attention to detail
- Manual dexterity
- Reliability
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to move loaded book carts and reach all shelves to six-foot level, with or without a kick stool
Schedules
Shelving is required continuously, so Pages’ work must be scheduled evenly throughout the week.
Applicants apply for and commit to a specific schedule for an entire one-year term.
Occasional absences due to travel or illness are expected; repeated unscheduled absences disrupt library workflows and may result in termination.
Applications Close Friday, August 15 at 5 pm
