Museum Passes (International Museum Day)

Museum Passes (International Museum Day)

Did you know that every May 18 is International Museum Day? Beebe Library has museum passes that are perfect for a summer day. You can reserve a pass for Wakefield Community Boating and enjoy a free hour of kayaking on Lake Quannapowitt, or you can head to a Massachusetts State Park and enjoy free parking for the day.

Other great ideas for summer road trips: a visit to one of the 55 wildlife sanctuaries and centers that make up the Mass Audubon Society, a trip to Plymouth to see the Plimoth Patuxet settlement, or a drive to a Trustees of Reservations location like Crane Beach in Ipswich or World’s End in Hingham.

And of course there are lots of choices if you’re looking to entertain out-of-town guests. Maybe The Science Museum, the Aquarium, or a trip to the Museum of Fine Arts.

Some of these passes give free entry and some provide a discount on tickets. Passes are available four weeks in advance for Wakefield residents, so book ahead–especially for weekend trips–as passes are limited. You can see the details of each pass on our website and start planning some fun summer activities!

Many thanks to the Friends of Beebe Library for sponsoring the library’s museum pass program! To support or join the Friends, please visit their website.
