September isn’t just the start of a new school year, it’s the beginning of a new programming season for adults at Beebe Library. We’ve got lots of great programs coming up, and we’re always adding something fun, so be sure to bookmark our calendar and note that many of these programs require registration. You can also use the links in this post to get more information and sign yourself up!
We had great attendance at our recent chair yoga program, and this series will continue every Friday in September.
Love games? Come to Beebe’s Board Game Night and try out some of the fun games we’ve been collecting (you can also check these games out to play at home). In November, Catie’s bringing back another Beebe Puzzle Palooza–yes, it’s a puzzling race! You can practice your puzzling skills in advance by borrowing from our puzzle swap in the Living Room. And don’t forget about Beebe Trivia. We’ve been working hard to create fun and challenging monthly games!
If you’re searching for your inner artist, you might want to check out Bad Art Night–an evening of judgment-free artistic expression! We’re also hosting a Halloween Paper Lanterns craft as well as two animal-themed needle felting crafts (you can choose either otters or cats).
Speaking of animals, the Owls are returning to Beebe Library! We’ll have a presentation from Eyes on Owls that promises to be a hoot! (See what we did, there?)
Opera lovers will be thrilled to hear that Opera Club resumes in September; join Howard Hart every month for an entertaining and educational afternoon of music and discussion.
Caffeine lovers will want to join coffee enthusiast Rob Fitzgibbon, who returns this fall to lead another Coffee Cupping class.
Later this month, join our reference librarian, Amanda, for a program called “Memory-Keeping: Preserving and Sharing Wakefield’s History.” Amanda will provide a summary of our grant-funded project to better organize and safeguard the library’s special collections and to inform you about some useful tools to organize and protect your own personal archives.
Our weekly English Conversation Group and Tech Drop-In will continue and we have some great Tech Classes lined up for fall too, like Intro to Canva and How to Use the NOBLE App.
And those programs? Those were just the IN-PERSON events! We have loads of Zoom programming to offer as well. There are, of course, our regular (3 per month) author talks – you can see the list of upcoming talks here. And in addition this fall we have everything from researching local history to learning about Alzheimer’s to understanding the migration patterns of birds… there’s something for everyone (even wine lovers)!
So, fall, we’re ready for you! Check our calendar regularly for updates and stop by or call the Reference Desk (781-246-6334) anytime with questions.
