Looking for affordable, family-friendly activities this summer? Beebe Library offers free or discounted admission to some of the best cultural and recreational spots in New England through its museum pass program, funded by Friends of Beebe Library.

Here’s a look at just a few of the exciting places you can explore:

Mass Audubon

Perfect for nature lovers! With dozens of sanctuaries across the state, enjoy trails, birdwatching, and nature centers. The pass covers entry for up to 4 people at $2 per person.

Massachusetts State Parks

Enjoy free parking for one vehicle at any one of the Mass State Parks.

Museum of Fine Arts, Boston

Art lovers will appreciate discounted tickets for 2 adults and 4 youths to explore world-renowned exhibits, from ancient Egyptian artifacts to contemporary pieces.

Museum of Science, Boston

The pass offers a generous discount on exhibit hall admission for up to 4 people. Explore interactive exhibits, the planetarium, and the lightning show—perfect for curious minds of all ages.

New England Aquarium

A Boston classic! Enjoy 50% off admission for up to 4 people. Dive into the Giant Ocean Tank, get close to stingrays at the touch tank, and meet penguins and sea turtles.

North Shore Children’s Museum

Ideal for kids ages 2–8, this Peabody museum offers 15 interactive rooms focused on creativity and movement. The pass gives you half-price admission for up to 5 guests.

Stone & Franklin Park Zoos

Spend the day outdoors exploring animal exhibits from snow leopards and river otters, to giraffes and wolves. The pass provides a significant discount for 2 adults and up to 4 children.

Trustees of the Reservations

Pass admits 2 adults and children under 18 to any one of the more than 100 special properties of exceptional scenic, historic, and ecological value—nearly 25,000 acres—all around Massachusetts. 

Wakefield Boating Community

Enjoy a single or tandem kayak trip around Lake Quannapowitt. The 2025 season pass is available Wednesday through Sunday from 10 AM to 6 PM. 

How to Use a Pass

  1. Visit the Museum Pass Reservation Page (you can find a link to this page on the Quick Links menu on our website: wakefieldlibrary.org)
  2. Choose a museum and date; you can choose dates up to one month ahead.
  3. Reserve the pass – depending on the pass you can either print it (or show the confirmation email to the museum or venue) or pick it up at the library

Remember to plan ahead—passes are popular and often reserved in advance during summer months.
