It’s that time of year again – days are getting warmer (well longer, at least), the gardens are blooming, the beach is calling, and the pool noodles have been dug out of the basement. But wait, what’s that other signal of summer tugging at that back of your mind? Yes! It’s the longing for a great book to read on vacation/at the pool/on the beach. And that’s why we, your Beebe librarians, always pop up at this time of year with Beach Reads, the book-talking extravaganza that comes with lists (and lists and lists) of books to entertain and enlighten you all summer long.
This year’s Beach Reads program was held on June 22, but you can still see our selections for the year! Have a look at our eight lists of books on a wide range of themes, by visiting this page. You could try Beth’s highlights from upcoming new fiction, Amanda’s collection of Strange Tales, or Casey’s Book to Movie/TV suggestions. Erin brings you Sibling Stories to tug at your heart strings, Jackie’s list will take you Far, Far Away, and Kathryn will be talking to us about her favorite True Crime picks. Karen’s list caters (as it often does) to those who have shorter attention spans, and Meaghan’s list fulfills all your needs for a good mystery series to take you through the summer and beyond.

Look out for us on our YouTube channel soon, where a slightly smaller contingent will introduce you to the lists, from the WCAT studio. And don’t forget the Beach Reads display will be up through July in the library, so you can keep coming back for more.
See you at the Library!
