It’s tax season and we’re happy to report that we finally have State and Federal tax forms available at the library. Tax time can be stressful, so we want to provide you with a few extra resources that you might find helpful.

Taxpayer Assistance Office

There is a Taxpayer Assistance Center office located in Woburn, at 400 Trade Center Drive, Suite 3890. They are open Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm (closed for lunch from 1 – 2 pm). Until April 16 their Tuesdays and Thursday hours are 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM (closed for lunch from 1 to 2 PM). You can call for an appointment at (844) 545-5640.

Free Tax Prep Help

The IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and the Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) programs offer free tax help for taxpayers who qualify. Here’s a list of providers near Wakefield.

Due to the Patriot’s Day and Emancipation Day holidays, taxpayers  living in Massachusetts have until April 17, 2024 to file their personal federal tax return.
